"No Music... No Life..."
Yeah my quote stands with a substantial reason! Here is a piece of today's news from
Yahoo!.
Listening to your
favorite music may be helpful to maintaining a
healthy heart, according to a study. The research team at the University of Maryland School of Medicine announced they had shown for the first time the emotions aroused by music enjoyed by the listener to be beneficial to a healthy blood vessel function.
The team, who in a 2005 study noted the cardiovascular benefits of laughter, presented their work at the 2008 Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association in New Orleans.
"I was impressed with the highly significant differences both before and after listening to joyful music as well as between joyful and anxious music," said head researcher Michael Miller, director of preventive cardiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and associate professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
The study found that participants -- 10 healthy, non-smoking volunteers -- listening to music that gave them a sense of joy caused the inner-lining tissues of blood vessels to expand, which increased blood flow.
The response matched the result of the 2005 study of laughter.
To minimize desensitization of emotions felt by listening to their favorite music, participants were instructed to avoid listening to the pieces for a minimum of two weeks before the test.
"The idea here was that when they listened to this music that they really enjoyed, they would
get an extra boost of whatever emotion was being generated," said Miller.
The study found that the diameter of the average upper arm blood vessel increased 26 percent after listening to joyful music, and listening to music that caused anxiety narrowed blood vessels by six percent.
The physiological impact of music may also affect the activity of the "
feel good" brain chemicals called endorphins, according to the study.
The study's results, said Miller, signal yet "another preventive strategy that we may incorporate in our daily lives to promote heart health."

Well, it's again been awhile since I put in my thoughts. Plentiful of them to put in words on daily events happening in my life. Mostly talking about the
ugly insides of people. You see them doing it everyday. Maybe some of you are among them. Take the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) for example.
I just knocked down a man that day. Oh I didn't drove him over. Only shouldered him to the floor. I wasn't even sorry because he deserved it. I was standing before the door, waiting for it to open, for me to alight the train. On the outside of the door is this whole gang of ugly people waiting to dash in, to play the "
musical chairs". (The train is kind of empty with a few seats available.) Right in front of me, on the other side of the door is this typical office guy in shirt & pants, talking to his girlfriend, waiting to board the train. I was so pissed when I see that I don't even have the passage way to alight. Train doors open and I purposely knocked and tripped that guy to the floor and walked off.
What's wrong with people nowadays? I believe many of those well-mannered beings are damn pissed by their disgusting acts. Why don't I encounter such incidents at other countries that I have been to?
I suggest
SMRT to put up neon signs like "Hey _______ , let passengers alight first!" (fill in the blanks with words like asshole/morons/your-mother-is-a-whore/fuckers/are-you-blind/stupid) in multiple languages, on the glass facing out of the train doors. Or how about some sensors? See those round metallic studs before the yellow lines? Run wires and electrify them. Send voltages high enough to go through the shoe soles and fry those hollow skulls of those ugly people. Circuits will open, upon the opening of train doors. I guess ugly people who can't read signs or listen to announcements will have to be treated like caveman. Let them learn that their behaviour is wrong by inflicting
pain on them... I will make them
learn... The
hard way...
