Getaway
That's quite about it after the road trip. Nobody seems to like wanna go on a vacation or something, some want to conserve their leave to go back Singapore and spend it with their love ones. What a bored... I had already spent 4 days of tranquility at home. Very well, since I walk alone all the time, fine. I packed a few clothes, made a call to Perry Handelman, Executive Host of
Stratosphere to get a 3-nights stay and the next day drove off to Las Vegas again... Here I am at Las Vegas now, in Chinatown's
阿宗面线 [
Ay Chung Cafe], getting my first meal of the day at 3pm, breakfast-lunch-dinner? It's cool place to hang out because they have free wireless Internet nice Taiwanese food & drinks and the waitresses are mostly pleasant looking & of great services.
Life is such meaningless... Oh by the way
Monte Carlo re-opens last Friday after their fire incident on 25 January 2008.
Day 1 - Lost USD$890
Day 2 - Win USD$2200
Day 3 - Win USD$700
An all expenses paid trip. Before I head back to Arizona, I met up with TYH for some shopping at the
Las Vegas Premium Outlets and also a round of dim-sum at the
Orchid Garden. *yawnz*

Road Trip
Here is what happened when I was on leave for a week or so since after the Chinese New Year... Starting off on a road trip with Leon on my
Ford Escape...
Drove 400 miles to get here,
Four Corners Monument, where the the 4 States meet at the same point in America. You can actually see that from the map of USA.
I am on 4 States at the same time! How are you able to do that?
Fwah... Enchantment?
That's where I stay.
Anyone with any bigger
STOP sign?
As the sun sets, we came to
Zion National Park in Utah. Cutting through it, into the tunnels in between the mountains in order to get us to Nevada, and along the way meeting lots of wildlife animals in our path. No photos of those animals as it was too dark.
We got to Nevada. Supposing to hit the E.T highway, but we were too tired to drive any farther. So, we decided to rest a day in
Stratosphere, Las Vegas.
Here we go again continuing our road trip. Ever heard of this place above? Yup, it exist, actually named
Groom Lake Air Force Base. But there is no way to get into the base.
Highly top secret. Only can get to it on 2 dirt roads along the Extraterrestrial Highway. I am not too sure about the Alien projects or captured UFOs in there, but I kind of believe and staying skeptical at the same time. By the way you can actually get a satellite view of it from Google Earth.
Oh here is an Inn along the highway,
Little A'Le'Inn. It's like kind a tourist attraction. Many peepz that are driving nearby will sure to make a stop to check it out.
Along the E.T. highway there is this infamous "
Black Mailbox". Yes, black. Well it used to be black. Read more about everything with my hyperlink.
So much for all the thousand over miles of driving. Look up the ceiling of the
Fremont Street in Las Vegas. Some of you may find it familiar if you can remember the drama about gambling, 'The Unbeatable', starring Zoe Tay & Li Nan Xing. It's a series of display above you. Totally magnificent...
I came across this artist on Fremont Street doing paintings. Can you believe he painted the piece above with just spray cans? Super cool. I bought his art.
Here is a Million in cash of USD$100, if you guys have not seen it before.
STOMP, now showing at
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Super awesome show. I wasn't really into it at first but I walked out of the theatre with a different opinion. Totally worth the ticket price.
Going up? 108 levels in like 45 seconds? I can't remember what the elevator host mentioned when we get into the elevator, even though I had been up there like 4 times already...
Looking at The Strip from the Top of the World, Stratosphere.

Lunar
Happy Chinese New Year to all Chinese out there and to those who celebrates it. Nothing much over here in the States. Second year spending my Chinese New Year already. As usual we will have our squadron's dinner function and before that we have the
Texas Hold'em Poker &
Mahjong competition. Well, I took part in the Mahjong. Last year I came in 2nd place with $68 cash prize and top prize for the 3D draw with $425. This year's competitors are strong but I came in 1st with $118! Yeah, I
love Mahjong. Not a bad start of the new year for both years though. I drove the drunkards home after the dinner. Never joined the rest of the guys to the casino. I am leaving for my road trip tomorrow...

Blessing In Disguise
It's a dream...Friday, Janurary 25, 20082 tough weeks have past, enough of Las Vegas, time to return back to Phoenix. Since it's the very last day, I decided to take a peek around the shopping outlets. I got myself 2 sets of suit & a pair of shoes from
HUGO BOSS. Resisted myself and only window shopped for the rest of the stores. Oh it's getting late, better hurry back home because I still need to work tomorrow, to welcome the rest of the guys back from Las Vegas.
Zoom... Zoom... Zoom... Cruising at 95 mph. Made passed Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Kingman, approaching Wikieup then Bang! Rear driver side tire blew, sending me spinning 360° off the highway US93 and into the rockslide beside the mountain side. I am still intact. It was dark & cold outside. Got out of the vehicle, but I see nothing. Reached for my phone to call for help as it seems impossible to drive my car out. No network. Finally found a spot to reach 911. Thank god. I called my best buddy too, to get him come pick me up from wherever I am at. The police, ambulance & the tow truck came. The medics told me that I was lucky because I would have flipped at that speed. (See, it's good to have low profile cars. Low CG, difficult to flip.) Anyway, I went back to work the next day morning. *yawnz*
So funny that it's not vague. All seems so real...
My car went into the Toyota workshop to do a final servicing & touchup before I put it up for sale. But, I never realised that even without advertising, I had already sold my car. Saved me the hassle of all the paperwork to put it up for sale. It's a hotcake. I still remember I already had people coming to ask me about the car when I was starting to own it. Anyway, I don't own it anymore now. "
Once broken, considered sold" Kinda hard for me to bear the feeling of losing it. Many ladies will miss it too. *sighz* What can I do? If only I can stay here forever... (minus all the little people around)
